We are located 25 minutes west of Almonte, on 150 picturesque acres of rolling hills and forest. Our small herd of dairy goats consist of Alpines, Saanens and Nubians. They are milked from Spring until Fall and the milk is used to raise kids and piglets. The rest goes to the creations of our luxuriously rich and moisturizing handcrafted 100% Pure Goat Milk Soaps!
Our newest addition to the farm are the Angoras. They are sheared each Spring and Fall, and the fleece is professionally cleaned and carded, then packaged and sold to spinners and other crafters.
Being a host farm for WWOOF (World Wide Opportunities on Organic Farms), we accept people from around the world to come and experience life on a goat farm.
 Visits welcome, please call ahead!

Products:
goat milk soap, goat meat, naturally raised pork raised on goat milk throughout the summer, muscovy ducks and eggs, 3 season cabin rental available from April to October, soap workshops (see website), and handcrafted cards with scenes of the farm and goats by Kay McKay, a local Carleton Place photographer.

Although not certified organic, no chemicals are used in her garden. Now in her 3rd year of business, Katie supplies weekly delivery of vegetables to customers in the Almonte and Carleton Place area and also sells at the Almonte Farmers Market on Saturday mornings. She also brings a wide variety of homebaked goods to the Almonte and Union Hall Market which begins in early July.

When Lisa and her husband Rob bought Knotty Bottoms Farm in 2009, there was only 1 acre of cleared land for planting next to the house, the rest in various stages of brush.  Now, 2 years later there are almost 40 acres of cleared land for both pasture and planting as well as 70 acres of woods they plan to manage for fire wood and maple syrup production in future years.
Their growing practices are down to earth, using their diesel tractor and sweat to manage the weeds rather than using pesticides and herbicides, to produce a product they are proud to sell and use on their own table as well.  While they do most of the work themselves, their twin girls love to help pick up rocks from the field, not to mention sampling whatever they can pull off the plants.
This year their products are being expanded to include more fresh produce as well as pastured poultry.  In future years they hope to be able to offer grass fed lamb and beef, as well as pasture fed pork.  Knotty Bottoms Produce and Poultry can be purchased either by a CSA subscription or at the Farm Gate.

Products:
Pastured Poultry and Farm Fresh Produce (Arugula, Bush Beans, Beets, Broccoli, Brussel sprouts, Cabbage, Carrots, Cauliflower, Corn, Cucumbers, Eggplant, Leek, lettuce, Melons, Onions, Garlic, Kale, Pak Choi, Peas, Hot and Sweet Peppers, Sugar Pumpkin, Radish, Spinach, Summer Squash, Swiss Chard, Cherry and Slicing Tomatoes, Winter Squash, Basil, Mint, Chives, Cilantro)

Only 30 minutes from Ottawa and 15 minutes from Carleton Place, we raise organic beef (Simmental), goat and lamb in a very peaceful setting on close to 200 acres of pasture, off the grid. During the milder seasons, our animals live of our land. This farm has been organic since 1972.
We have a very unique farm operation where all the animals are roaming freely and are very tame, including Freddy, the pot bellied pig. We are creating an educational environment for schools and offer summer camps to teach young and old about a healthy life style and organic food sources.
A respect for animals and producing food naturally is what drives our farm. We practice organic farming because it is a philosophy and it's the way Robert was raised on his family's farm in Switzerland. Our farm is open to the public for visits and long walks.
You can purchase our products at the farm gate or the Carleton Place and Stittsville Farmers’ Market. Our meat and cheese are very popular.  We are long time members of the Canadian Organic Growers. Please call for more info about our products and cow shares.

Heritage Harvest Farm, Organic Produce CSA and Preserve CSA - Heritage Harvest Farm is located on 36 acres near Merrickville, Ontario. Our goal is to create a CSA model farm that provides a full and interesting diet. We have designed our farm around our desire to pasture raise animals the way nature intended. All of our animals are pasture raised and all are raised in a loving stress free environment. We are an Organic farm and are able to provide our own compost and all of our own hay. Any grains needed are purchased from Homestead Organics. On our farm we supply all of our own dairy, pork, beef, chicken, eggs, fruit, vegtables and maple syrup.

  • CSA Shares run for sixteen weeks each. Each week they include a variety of different types of delicious vegetables. We are a Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) farm. Our members support us by buying a share, which is a season's worth of vegetables purchased in advance. This investment enables us to pay for seeds and labor at the time we need it most. Members pick up their produce once a week from the farm or another of our distribution locations. Each share is designed to feed two adults, with plenty left over. Full Family Shares are available. Please inquire for pricing.

  • Our Summer 2012 Share runs from May 3 to August 17 and includes the cool season vegetables of spring as well as the full bounty of summer. You can expect everything from greens to herbs to tomatoes, peppers, carrots, squash and onions.

We purchased the 176 acre former beef operation in 2008 and began planting in 2009.  45 acres are tillable sand, loam and clay and the rest is primarily wetlands (feeding the Tay River Watershed) and mixed forest.

Greenwood Organics is committed to providing the local community with organic produce, especially heritage varieties rich in taste and nutritional value-- nourishing the land and the community. Currently, 2 acres are under cultivation with half committed to green manures as part of the farm's crop rotation program. As well as garlic and the major root and annual vegetables, asparagus and raspberries have been planted which will be available in future years. We are certified organic by OC-Pro and are members of the Canadian Organic Growers, Ecological Farmers Association of Ontario and National Farmers Union.

Greenwood Organics sells at the Perth Market and at our farm gate. Please call ahead for farm gate sales.
