After 10 years away from Lanark County, Katie returned home to her familys' dairy farm and took over a small pot of land to begin her market garden and CSA. Although not certified organic, no chemicals are used in her garden. Now in her 3rd year of business, Katie supplies weekly delivery of vegetables to customers in the Almonte and Carleton Place area and also sells at the Almonte Farmers Market on Saturday mornings. She also brings a wide variety of homebaked goods to the Almonte and Union Hall Market which begins in early July.

Heritage Harvest Farm, Organic Produce CSA and Preserve CSA - Heritage Harvest Farm is located on 36 acres near Merrickville, Ontario. Our goal is to create a CSA model farm that provides a full and interesting diet. We have designed our farm around our desire to pasture raise animals the way nature intended. All of our animals are pasture raised and all are raised in a loving stress free environment. We are an Organic farm and are able to provide our own compost and all of our own hay. Any grains needed are purchased from Homestead Organics. On our farm we supply all of our own dairy, pork, beef, chicken, eggs, fruit, vegtables and maple syrup.

  • CSA Shares run for sixteen weeks each. Each week they include a variety of different types of delicious vegetables. We are a Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) farm. Our members support us by buying a share, which is a season's worth of vegetables purchased in advance. This investment enables us to pay for seeds and labor at the time we need it most. Members pick up their produce once a week from the farm or another of our distribution locations. Each share is designed to feed two adults, with plenty left over. Full Family Shares are available. Please inquire for pricing.

  • Our Summer 2012 Share runs from May 3 to August 17 and includes the cool season vegetables of spring as well as the full bounty of summer. You can expect everything from greens to herbs to tomatoes, peppers, carrots, squash and onions.

We purchased the 176 acre former beef operation in 2008 and began planting in 2009.  45 acres are tillable sand, loam and clay and the rest is primarily wetlands (feeding the Tay River Watershed) and mixed forest.

Greenwood Organics is committed to providing the local community with organic produce, especially heritage varieties rich in taste and nutritional value-- nourishing the land and the community. Currently, 2 acres are under cultivation with half committed to green manures as part of the farm's crop rotation program. As well as garlic and the major root and annual vegetables, asparagus and raspberries have been planted which will be available in future years. We are certified organic by OC-Pro and are members of the Canadian Organic Growers, Ecological Farmers Association of Ontario and National Farmers Union.

Greenwood Organics sells at the Perth Market and at our farm gate. Please call ahead for farm gate sales.

Kricklewood Farm had its beginnings in Atlanta Georgia with a goat cheesemaking workshop at a local Saanen Dairy.  We discovered the qualities of goat milk soap and the business idea was born:  Goat Milk soap in a variety of scents including Lavender, Cinnamon Oatmeal and Rosemary MInt.  Since then we've also expanded into goat milk fudge:  Maple Cinnamon, Chocolate and Peanut Butter are the favourites.  Inaddition to goat milk soap and fudge, we offer organic free range chicken and duck eggs, seasonal produce cut flowers and beeswax candles.  We also offer farm-inspired art cards  and framed prints featuring some of the animals on the farm: Pitou the pot-bellied pig, the Nubian goats, chickens and Muscovy ducks.

Garry Kelsey grows about 15,000 to 20,000 garlic bulbs each year. He has been growing garlic for more than 10 years and sells seed garlic to other growers. Though the farm is only 25 acres, “it doesn’t take much land to grow garlic,” says Garry. He grows two varieties – Music and Russian Red and will be growing some leeks this year as well. Tomatoes, garlic and onions grown at White Rock Garlic are available in August and are sold at the Perth Farmers’ Market. Garlic is available at Foodsmiths in season.
Garry, who is now retired, has a portable sawmill and saws lumber as a hobby. “My website, www.tatlockcentral.bravehost.com has information on what we do here in Tatlock,” he says. The website also offers more than100 garlic and scape recipes.
