Mark Saunders and Jennifer Farnum have lived at Crooked Hills Farm for 20 years and, as of 2007, have been joined by twin daughters, Chloe and Mabel. Jennifer works as a primary teacher for the Limestone District School Board and Mark runs the farming operation.
Their 265-acre farm consists of two sugar maple bushes, 50 acres of hayfields, 15 acres of mature pine plantations, 5 acres of Christmas tree plantation, 100 acres of mixed hardwood/old pasture, a 60-acre sphagnum bog and 5 acres in strawberries.
Strawberries are the main source of farm income but Mark and Jennifer also sell honey from their dozen bee colonies, maple syrup from several hundred maple trees, as well as hay, straw, and Christmas trees.
To enhance the quality of the soil, the strawberry beds are rotated every 3 years out of berries and spend the following 3 years in millet and radish plowdown crops. In addition, each year, four tons per acre of organic matter in the form of straw is applied to the beds.

Products:
